Our Club meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM at the Le Mars Senior Citizens Center. We maintain a planting at the Plymouth County Fairgrounds. We also have a garden plant sale every year usually in mid May. We set up a study plant every year as well. Also we take over the Open Class Building in Horticulture for the Plymouth County Fair in late July every year. The fair last for 5 days. Our building is air conditioned so our flower show lasts for the 5 days of the fair.

Organized in 1939,Our Club meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm. We have 37 members with 2 of them being honorary members. Our club usually meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30. There are a few meetings this year a week later, but we usually try for that day. We meet at different places each month around Clay County. We are working hard at supporting local businesses. Along with supporting these local businesses we also have a program with most of our meetings that range from bats to Loess Hills. The Clay County Garden Club hosts a Garden Tour around the Spencer area each summer. We get around 5 homes to open their yards for tours. We have artists and musicians there to add to the tour. This tour is a free will donation. We like to celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees around Spencer. In 2023 we planted 3 redbud trees alongside the newly restored Rocket Slide on East Leach Park in Spencer. We are planning on where to plant trees this year. We have two members of our club that have been spearheading the Blue Star Markers for Dickinson County, just North of us. This year we are working with the Clay County Conservation Board to host a Garden Camp for children interested in Gardening. We hope to open their understanding of pollinators and what goes into gardening along with the many rewards.
