Ackworth Garden Club 

President-Jenny Messer
Ackworth was organized and federated in 1937.
We meet the fourth Wednesday of the month at Scotch Ridge United Presbyterian church in Carlisle at 11:00a.m. Followed by a light lunch and program at 1:00. Ackworth has an annual plant sale every May at Moats Park in Indianola. We maintain the Judicial Center planter on the square in Indianola. We put wreaths on veterans graves at the Ackworth cemetery every November and December. We have hosted “Autumn Fest” a day of speakers and vendors the last two years on the first Saturday of October. Ackworth Garden club loves to get together and make crafts. 33 active and 13 Honorary members.

Afton Garden Club

Federated Garden Club Organized 1930. Federated 1935. Club meets 2nd Friday of Month 1:30 PM at Afton Community Center. Business meeting followed by hostesses providing treats and silent auction. Concludes with Program which varies month to month. We have a club tour in June. We host Floriculture show at Union Co fair in July. Have a Fall picnic Sept.,and host a Fall Luncheon in Oct. AFGC maintains Butterfly Garden, Roadside flower bed in Lorimor and establishing a Circle of Rose’s Garden at Union Co Fair grounds with Grant money received from FGCI. We have 23 members. 

Ames Garden Club

Organized in 1923 and Federated in 1928, the Ames Garden Club starts with the business meeting and socializing over refreshments at 6:00 pm with a special program at 7:00 pm on the third Thursday of the month at Reiman Gardens unless otherwise noted. 21 members

Baxter Garden Club

Organized in 1952, the
Baxter Garden Club meets monthly, with dates determined by the committee. 11 members 3 honorary. Meet at City Hall time determined.

Centerville Garden Club 

President-Ayrand Robinson

Around 2004 the Centerville Garden Club was revitalized (Federated in 2016) and has been an active volunteer organization and a vital group to the Centerville region.  The members spend hundreds of hours each year on projects to beautify the community.  Our meetings are the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM,  being hosted at different locations.  We currently have 24 members and counting.  Feel free to contact us if you would like to join a meeting.

Grant Sunshine Garden Club

Organized in 1946, Federated in 1946. the Grant Sunshine Federated Garden Club meets at the Anderson Conservation Area, Dr. F.R. Wolfe Nature Center, Red Oak, IA the third Friday of the month. 43 members.

Greater Des Moines Garden Club

Organized 1918 Federated 1943
Meeting are at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Center, 909 Robert Ray Dr., Des Moines.We meet at 1:00 each 4th Thursday of the month (excluding Thanksgiving-we meet the 3rd Thursday). After the meeting we are allowed to tour the gardens. Visitors are welcome just check in at the desk. 33 members. 1 Honorary

 

Knoxville Garden Club 

President-Bev Grimes
Organized in 1998, the Knoxville Federated Garden Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the First United Methodist Church, 313 Montgomery Street in Knoxville. We are the caretaker of the Bessie Spaur Butterfly Garden and are currently working on a new project of a water feature in the garden with the cancer treatment rooms at the Knoxville Hospital will be overlooking it. Cathy Courtney is the current President. We currently have 35 active members with 4 Honorary members. 

   Woodland Hills Garden Club

Organized February 1956. Federated March 1965. Meets 2nd Monday of the month at 6 pm. Location varies. 10 members

Pella Garden Club
